OSRL Tests and Validates Remote Sensing Equipment

A recent offshore exercise, conducted by Oil Spill Response Ltd. (OSRL), was designed to understand how remote sensing technologies can help detect oil spills at sea more effectively. Utilising the latest in satellite, airborne and in-water surveillance and communications equipment, the highly successful event demonstrated the value of the state-of-the-art technology in identifying and monitoring spills and was conducted with full approval of the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) following a rigorous planning and stakeholder consultation process.

Oil Spill Response Ltd demonstrates its latest dispersant capabilities with Lee-on-the-Solent Flypast

Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL), the world’s largest oil spill response cooperative, will be showcasing the capabilities of its Boeing 727 aerial dispersant aircraft on the Solent on 7th June 2017. Flying off the coast of Lee-on-the-Solent, the low-level on-the-water exercise is scheduled to take place at approximately 19.30 and will demonstrate the aircraft’s unique dispersant capabilities, spraying fresh water to simulate the application of dispersant in a real incident.

OSRL Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Trendsetter and Halliburton for integrated subsea well-capping solutions

Oil Spill Response Ltd (OSRL), Trendsetter Engineering and Halliburton today announced the companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for integrated subsea well-capping response solutions. With the MOU, the companies will create a strategic alliance for oil and gas exploration and production companies globally, covering integrated solutions for preparedness and response associated with subsea well control activities.

Satellite Imagery at OSRL

OSRL undertook a Triple Sortie exercise in September to validate the spraying capability of our Boeing 727 aircraft. The exercise also provided an excellent opportunity to test the coordination of spray runs between the 727s and the PA-31 Navajo aerial surveillance aircraft.
