OSRL launches Offset Installation Equipment for SWIS members

Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) has announced that its latest development in subsea well capping technology is now available to its members. Designed specifically for scenarios where direct vertical access to a well head is not viable, the new Offset Installation Equipment (OIE) enables capping or related equipment to be installed at a safe distance from an incident.

OSRL and Bayfield Oil Services Announce Joint Venture Agreement

Oil Spill Response Limited (ORSL), the largest international industry-funded cooperative, and Ghana’s Bayfield Oil Services, today announced the establishment of a joint venture. The new strategic alliance, which will be named OSRL Ghana Limited, will see the two companies sharing their expertise and resources. OSRL will expand its current in-county presence for oil spill preparedness services, including the provision of specialist personnel to members, consultancy services, training and equipment hire. Bayfield’s role will focus on its local expertise and experience of operating in Ghana, as well as providing local content and access to facilities in Accra and Takoradi.

On Wednesday, August 16, OSRL CEO Robert Limb lead a multifaceted OSRL team to Brazil to present a forum on Preparedness for a Major Subsea Incident. The forum was held at the Brazilian Petroleum & Gas Institute (IBP) in Rio de Janeiro, with a follow-on visit on Thursday, August 17, to the SWIS base at Angra dos Reis.
