Do I need to complete IMO 1 to take IMO 2 or IMO 2 to move on the IMO 3?

The IMO courses are not hierarchical. The level numbers indicate the position or role of  the person taking the course and not the progression of the course.

When does my training certification expire and what do I need to do to keep it current?

All courses are delivered to an internationally recognised training standard. IMO, MCA and DECC must be refreshed every three years to retain certification. To retain your certificate, you will need to attend a one-day refresher course within 39 months of your last course. OSRL recommends that all training is refreshed every three years, regardless of the level of certification.

Are online courses accredited?

We are a Nautical Institute accredited training provider providing courses to international and globally recognised training standards such as, IMO, MCA and OPEP. We have also developed our own certification standard; OSRL Certificate of Completion. Look for the certification logo against each course which will detail the standard of that course and the certification you will receive once you have conducted the course.

I don’t see any dates on your course calendar that work for me but I need to train my personnel. What are my options?

We offer fully customised training services. By working closely with you, understanding your training requirements, and sharing our knowledge and experience, we can offer courses creating specifically for you at your desired location.

Can I make a course booking for more than one person at a time?

Yes. Once you’re logged into your MyOSRL account, you can navigate to the page of the course you wish to book and you will be given the option to book multiple delegates.

How far in advance do I need to book?

It is advisable to book your place as soon as possible. Many of our courses are popular and fill up quickly. Each course typically has a limited number of sessions so missing a place may mean having to wait until next year to take the course.

I’ve signed up for a MyOSRL account, does that mean I get the member price?

The organisation for which you work will have to be a member of OSRL in order for you to benefit from member prices on our courses.

I’ve booked online but not paid for my course. What happens next?

You will receive an automated booking acknowledgement at the time of booking, this is followed by an invoice from one of the Team. Once payment is received, your course place is confirmed via email.

How can I check my booking went through?

You will receive a booking confirmation email. Also, when you’ve registered for a MyOSRL account, you will be able to view all of the courses you have completed, as well as upcoming courses you’re booked onto, on your dashboard.
