Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) Announces Request for Proposals for Autonomous Dispersant Effectiveness Monitoring System Upgrade

OSRL, a global leader in oil spill response, is inviting suppliers to submit proposals for upgrading its dispersant effectiveness monitoring system to include autonomous capabilities. This upgrade will enhance monitoring precision and safety, leveraging Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and reducing human intervention. Proposals are due by 1st November 2024, with key dates outlined for confirmation, interviews, and equipment trials. Oil Spill Response exercise this week in the English Channel

This week we are performing a live on-the-water exercise (11th to 14th June) to train our response teams and develop our operational capabilities. The live on-the-water exercise simulates an oil spill incident to test response equipment and instructs personnel on good-practice procedures. 

It will take place over four days southwest of the Isle of Wight and along the Solent and involve several specialist vessels out on the water, as well as a Boeing 727 aircraft adapted with internal tanks, pumps, and spray booms flying alongside a dedicated surveillance aircraft. Partner 2Excel Aviation will operate the Boeing 727 and the surveillance aircraft.
