Operationalising Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s) for Spill Response

Developed a framework of UAV providers that can be engaged with to provide a UAV capability locally, regionally, and globally for oil spill response.

Identifying the applications of UAV’s for spill response and preparedness through exercising and trialling UAV’s.

Operationalising a UAV spill response capability through the writing of procedures, defining deliverables, outputs, and operational parameters.

Engagement with our members and other stakeholders to develop UAV capabilities for oil spill response and preparedness.

Surveillance Kite Package

Operationalised a surveillance kite package that can be deployed to provide offshore tactical oil spill response support for containment and recovery operations. The surveillance kite package, incorporates several kites to allow for different wind speeds, a camera and gimbal for image stabilisation, and a transmitter for sending live video back down to the vessel crew.
