Course details

The aim of this course is to provide you with an understanding of the role of the Performing Authority.

The objectives of this course are to ensure that Performing Authorities:

  • Are aware of the legal responsibilities of being in charge of work parties
  • Are able to recognise and assess workplace hazards, and to control them
  • Can monitor and control the work effectively and respond to changes, and
  • Can manage and control work through effective communication and handovers at various stages of work

The course is split up into four modules and at the end of each module we'll test your understanding by giving you practice questions.

At the end of the course your understanding of the information given will be tested and the results recorded. You need to answer 80 percent of the questions correctly to pass the course. When you pass, you will be issued with a certificate which is valid for 2 years.

This course should take about 4 hours to complete including an assessment; however, we recommend that you take your time and progress at a pace you find comfortable.
