Oiled Wildlife Response planning is rarely embedded into emergency preparedness and response structures but has been a legal requirement in Europe under the Offshore Safety Directive (2013/30/EU), it is also recognised as a key area of Tiered Preparedness and Response (OGA/IPIECA Guidelines). Setting up and running an effective wildlife response with support from outside agencies can only be achieved by having a dedicated response plan prepared in advance and initiated at the beginning of the response effort.

European-based courses are co-presented by Sea Alarm and Europe’s leading oiled wildlife response organisation, Wildlife Rescue Centre (WRC), Ostend.
