This course is essential for all Offshore Installation Managers (OIMs) and other offshore personnel responsible for assessing oil spills and their consequences, activating oil spill emergency plans (OPEP’s) and reporting pollution incidents to authorities. This course will give you the required Department for Business, Environment and Industry Strategy (BEIS) training.
This qualification is only recognised within the UK and does not have any international equivalent under IMO Level standards. It is recommended that any OIM likely to have an expanded role or responsibility operating in international waters should undertake the full equivalent of an IMO Level 2 course, Oil Spill Clearance - On-Scene Commander.
To retain existing certification this course must be retaken within 36 months.
