Course details

Develop your understanding of the necessary levels of wildlife preparedness and response to aid effective decision-making.

Oiled Wildlife Response planning is rarely embedded into emergency preparedness and response structures but has been a legal requirement in Europe under the Offshore Safety Directive (2013/30/EU), it is also recognised as a key area of Tiered Preparedness and Response (OGA/IPIECA Guidelines). Setting up and running an effective wildlife response with support from outside agencies can only be achieved by having a dedicated response plan prepared in advance and initiated at the beginning of the response effort.

Our Asia-based courses are co-presented by Massey University (Wildbase). European-based courses are co-presented by Sea Alarm and Europe’s leading oiled wildlife response organisation, Wildlife Rescue Centre (WRC), Ostend. This gives you the chance to meet the global experts in oiled wildlife preparedness and response.
