Course details

Gas Monitor (OPITO-Approved) - This course is a replacement for the previous OPITO-Approved Authorised Gas Tester Level 3, following a change in standards by OPITO.

 

QUICK OVERVIEW

The aim of this course is to teach you the requirements associated with gas detection. On successful completion, you will have the basic knowledge necessary to allow you to operate as a Gas Monitor. You will be given two attempts at each module, and you must score 80% to pass. This course should take around 4 hours. However, we recommend you take your time and progress at a pace that you find comfortable.

 

This course will provide you with the associated information on the following:

• The responsibilities of the Fire Watch, Standby Person and Gas Monitor Role

• How to use and care for personal protective equipment

• How gases behave and the implications for the worksite

• The importance of good and regular communication

 

There will be a final test that brings together all of the information within the course. When you pass the course, you will be issued with a certificate which is valid for 3 years. If you fail, you will have 2 remediation attempts.

This course should take around 1 hour to complete. However, we recommend you take your time and progress at a pace that you find comfortable.
