Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) can provide its members with Autonomous Underwater Vehicle capability. AUV’s can be mobilised rapidly and can be operational soon after spill events have been identified, communicating near real-time information to a secure web-portal.
The challenges faced with existing tools led OSRL to investigate and develop a kite surveillance package. Kites can be utilised where other tools may be restricted in use due to the regulatory environment/requirements, cost implications and availability of other surveillance assets.
In 2016, a member of OSRL was choosing a relief well location as part of a gas exploration well Safety Case. For the case scenario, they wanted to know whether the chosen relief well drill site would be safe. A worst case gas release scenario was modelled by OSRL to asisst in the decision making process for the Member. Find out more through the case study.
