Technical Information Sheet - Contingency Planning

Technical Information Sheet - Contingency Planning

The contingency planning process is a structured approach to developing a spill response capability. It allows an effective initial response to an oil spill, in addition to sustaining an ongoing response proportionate to the risk.

Technical Information Sheet - Strategic and Tactical Planning

Technical Information Sheet - Strategic and Tactical Planning

A Strategic Response Plan is a tailored document that provides specific response information based on medium to longer term response management objectives and details the means of achieving them.

A Tactical Response Plan is a tailored document that provides more operationally focussed information essential for implementing the selected response techniques.

Technical Information Sheet - Secondments

Technical Information Sheet - Secondments

Major changes in the structure of many oil and energy companies has occurred through mergers, restructuring and the drive to maximise delivery at minimum cost.In many cases, this has caused a shortfall in experienced and skilled personnel, thus putting the industry under severe pressure as it strives to greatly improve its operational efficiency. Recognising the changes, we have increased our capacity to provide our members with specialist support for long-term or short-term projects through secondments.

Technical Information Sheet - 3D Oil Spill Modelling in OSCAR

The three dimensional (3D) Oil Spill Contingency And Response (OSCAR) model allows for subsea plume modelling. By combining the outputs of multiple oil spill trajectories, simulating temporally varying wind and current conditions, OSCAR produces statistical (stochastic) outputs from which worst case scenarios can be identified and planned for.
