A capability review forms part of the contingency planning process. It ensures that investment in oil spill capability meets the needs of the operations and is suitable for the risk level.

The three dimensional (3D) Oil Spill Contingency And Response (OSCAR) model allows for subsea plume modelling. By combining the outputs of multiple oil spill trajectories, simulating temporally varying wind and current conditions, OSCAR produces statistical (stochastic) outputs from which worst case scenarios can be identified and planned for.
Who we are visualising for - Member's with and without geomatics team support, When do we visualise - first critical hours of an incident when the geomatics team maybe mobilising to all the way through the incident at various levels of support.
Tiered Preparedness and Response is an internationally recognized planning approach used to: Define and structure levels of oil spill response capabilities; this apporach is not used to categorize the size or scope of a spill, Plan for appropriate resources to be rapidly mobilized and cascaded to an incident location, Enable response escalation for an oil spill of any magnitude.
Aim of this Session: List the challenges associated with stakeholder engagement, To be able to name the key learning styles, Explain how application of these styles can benefit stakeholder engagement.
1 - Types of airborne sensors, 2 - Integrated airborne systems, 3 - Training of airborne surveillance, 4 - Challenge of the regional availability of platforms and sensors.

What makes an effective response to an oil spill? Well trained personnel and the correct response equipment, available at all times. OSRL provides customised, targeted and cost effective oil spill response equipment leasing solutions in support of our members and the demands of the industry.
Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) has undergone a development process to increase its inland oil spill response capability. This poster illustrates the activities carried out during this development process and documents the change in capability.
Oil spill contingency plans are important documents that aid critical decision making when responding to an oil spill incident. Their functionality is for users who are faced with intense pressures to respond quickly to an incident is crucial.
