Case Study: Subsea Gas Plume Modelling Study

February, 2017

Case Study: Subsea Gas Plume Modelling Study

In 2016, a member of OSRL was choosing a relief well location as part of a gas exploration well Safety Case. For the case scenario, they wanted to know whether the chosen relief well drill site would be safe. A worst case gas release scenario was modelled by OSRL to asisst in the decision making process for the Member. Find out more through the case study.

Technical Information Sheet - 3D Oil Spill Modelling in OSCAR

Technical Information Sheet - 3D Oil Spill Modelling in OSCAR

The three dimensional (3D) Oil Spill Contingency And Response (OSCAR) model allows for subsea plume modelling. By combining the outputs of multiple oil spill trajectories, simulating temporally varying wind and current conditions, OSCAR produces statistical (stochastic) outputs from which worst case scenarios can be identified and planned for.

Technical Information Sheet - Oil Spill Response Modelling in OilmapTM

The two dimensional (2D) OILMAPTM model allows for rapid trajectory modelling of oil spills. Using real-time and forecast wind and current data, OSRL’s dedicated modelling team predict the development of oil spills, producing outputs to support response planning.

Presentation - Visualisation: From the Field Perspective

Presentation - Visualisation: a from the field perspective

Who we are visualising for - Member's with and without geomatics team support, When do we visualise - first critical hours of an incident when the geomatics team maybe mobilising to all the way through the incident at various levels of support.

Recorded Webinar: Beyond the Model

Recorded Webinar: Beyond the Model

In this engaging talk, Liam, OSRL's Geomatics Lead and globally recognised specialist, gives his view on the state of oil spill modelling, discussing how specialist teams take the model data further to best provide information to a decision support tool.
