WACAF -                                                                 Providing response services to operators in West Africa

Following requests for a Tier 2 support system from our Members in West and Central Africa waters, the WACAF Aerial Surveillance and Dispersant Spraying service (WACAF) was established. This additional service is available to all OSRL members who require Tier 2 capability in this region. It provides aerial surveillance and dispersant spraying from the western boundary of Côte d'Ivoire in the northwest to the southern boundary of Angola, and also includes the adjoining sea for a distance of 150 miles from the coast.

This service gives our Members access to a regionally located, fast and cost-effective response to oil spill incidents. We have made all of this possible by utilising a converted Bandeirante aircraft that can be rapidly fitted with a dispersant spray system and surveillance equipment package.

If you already have a Member's Associate/Participant agreement in place then you are eligible for WACAF through a supplementary agreement. You can find out more by contacting our team.
