Course details

This remote course explores the concepts, principles, processes and tools of crisis management. Several case studies are included in the course providing the best practices in handling different crisis scenarios. It also focuses on the key activities, roles and responsibilities required for effective crisis management.

This remote course is based on good practice guidelines and reflects the current global thinking from the BS EN ISO 22301:2014, BS 11200:2014 and PD CEN/TS 17091:2018.

 

Is this course for me?

This remote course is ideal for those required to be part of the Crisis Management Team (CMT) as this course highlights the fundamental aspects of crisis management including roles and responsibilities. Furthermore, this remote course provides the participants the processes and tools in handling the crisis. The participants are provided with exposure in handling crisis through the tabletop exercises.    

This course is suitable for all prospective participants with the following background: 

  • Emergency Response Managers / Supervisors
  • Business Continuity personnel
  • Resilience practitioners
  • Middle to senior level management

 

What will I learn?

This course looks at the fundamentals needed to implement and be a part of a crisis management team; from procedures and processes to the importance of timely and effective communications, including the use of social media.

This course will give you the knowledge and understanding in the following areas:

  • Understand the principles, strategies and techniques for incident response and crisis management; and
  • Develop the knowledge and skills necessary for implementing an effective structure and processes for responding to and managing incidents and crises.
