This course provides awareness for any individual who would perform a support role during a response.
The course describes IMS features and principles, organisational structure, the Incident Action Plan, Span of Control and common responsibilities. IMS 100 is a prerequisite for all continued IMS training courses.

- IMS overview and applications, features and organisational principles
- Staff function including positions and responsibilities
- Planning, facilities and functions including the Incident Action Plan (IAP)
- The role of Unified Command (UC)
