The WCM program was developed by CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. (CSA) and has been integrated into operational plans and desktop exercises conducted in the U.S. and internationally since 2014. Designed for deepwater deployments, water column characterization, water sampling, and monitoring during subsea dispersant injection (SSDI), he instruments enable in situ, real-time characterization of water column properties with depth, including temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, and two types of fluorescence, as well as the remote triggering of water sampling bottles at any depth.

OSRL’s Global Logistics Team is set up to provide high quality expertise within OSRL and to the wider industry. Comprising of logistics specialists, the team provides management, control and improvement of procedures and processes related to movement of OSRL personnel and equipment on a global basis.

Ahead of the Spillcon international oil spill conference in Perth this past May, Australia’s National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) hosted a Subsea Wells Source Control Workshop. In the final instalment of the series, we spoke with Rhys Jenkins, Senior Spill Response Specialist & Duty Manager for OSRL and co-chair of the Inland Core Group. He explains the objectives and activity for his team and how they are helping to build confidence in OSRL’s inland capabilities.
