Sam Macdonald
Geomatics Secondee
After achieving First-Class Honours in Environmental Science at the University of Portsmouth, Sam first moved into the world of pollution prevention with a regional water company, helping to achieve wastewater compliance and improvements in river quality.
Sam joined OSRL in 2014 and entered the world of the Operations Department, where he trained in the methods of spill response to assist clients in spills around the globe including Nigeria, UAE and the North Sea.
Sam was seconded to the preparedness function of Equipment Hire Services in 2016 where he led the preparation and supply of response equipment for client drill ventures, providing training in-country to likely first responders.
In 2019 Sam joined the Geomatics Department where he is involved in the delivery of oil spill modelling and environmental sensitivity mapping.
