Introduction to SWIS
SWIS is an industry funded joint initiative providing the industry with the capability to better respond to subsea well-control incidents.
Oil Spill Response owns, maintains and stores, in a response ready state, the equipment required for well-intervention operations and containment.
This includes access to:
- Two 10k PSI, two 15k PSI Capping Stack Systems (CSS) and two Subsea Incident Response Toolkits (SIRT)
- The Containment Toolkit (3 legs).
- Offset Installation Equipment (OIE)
The equipment is transportable by road, air and sea for deployment and can be called upon by any OSRL member through supplementary agreements.
The equipment is strategically stored at multiple locations globally to enable an efficient response.
