Paul Gunter

Paul has an oil industry background having previously worked for several oil majors during his 30 years working in the industry. He is an experienced oil spill preparedness professional and has worked with numerous clients, regulators and governments on a wide range of projects around the world. Paul has written a number of papers and presented at major conferences, and has extensive knowledge of the behaviour, response and mitigation of heavy oil and emulsified fuel spills. Paul previously studied chemistry and has attained MRSC status (Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry), and this background has been particularly useful in studying Low Sulphur Fuel Oils.

Paul is currently in his third period within the OSRL consultancy department and has project managed and delivered IMS compliant oil spill contingency plans, exercises and capability reviews for both offshore and inland operations around the world.
