Andrew Follows

Geomatics Specialist

Andrew joined OSRL in December 2022 and is undergoing training in the Geomatics Department in addition to becoming a reserve Responder.

He has been involved in preparedness work, modelling and preparing environmental impact assessments, shoreline response plans, visualisation and data analysis requests. Andrew is also part of the dedicated on-call response modelling team, providing 2D & 3D modelling forecasts to the Response Duty Manager for oil spill incidents and exercises worldwide.

Andrew holds a Master's in Oceanography from the University of Southampton's School of Ocean and Earth Science. He has previously worked for the UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency's (MCA) operational branch of His Majesty's Coastguard (HMCG), leading a team to provide life-saving assistance to incidents on the UK coastline and at sea.
