Equipment Stockpile Status Report

In response to our Members' request for information on the availability of our equipment, particularly when we are engaged in several spill responses at once, a monthly Equipment Stockpile Status Report PDF is now available to download from our website.

The Service Level Agreement (SLA) Equipment Stockpile Status Report gives an overview of the availability of our equipment stockpile globally. It is useful in assuring Members of our readiness and provides a vital rundown of the resources they can access in the event of a spill. Under our SLA, the first Member who initiates a mobilisation will be entitled to a maximum 50% of our stockpile, while the second Member is entitled to a maximum 50% of the remaining stockpile and so on.

We conduct regular maintenance on the SLA equipment to ensure that it is response ready at all times. Maintenance is either conducted on a 3, 6 or 12 month basis and after exercise or spill use. The procedure carried out is dependent upon the type of equipment and is based on equipment manufacturers recommendations. Full maintenance and defect records are kept in a computerised programme. We also have procedures in place to mobilise and deploy the equipment which are regularly reviewed and updated based on industry good practice and lessons learnt.

The Global Dispersant Stockpile (GDS) and United Kingdom Dispersant Service (UKDI) Equipment Stockpile Status Reports give an overview of the availability of the dispersant stockpiles globally. Under the dispersant agreements,  the first Member who initiates a mobilisation will be entitled to a maximum 100% of either the GDS or UDKI stockpiles.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Dave Redington (Global Dispersant Lead), Paul Foley (Operations Manager, Southampton), Paul Garner (Operations Manager, Singapore) or Matt Simmons (Operations Manager, Fort Lauderdale) if you need further information or clarification. We also welcome any comments you may have on how we can improve this service for our Members.
