This event was officially opened on 22nd April by Mrs Lim Hwee Hua,
Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Finance
and Transport. Attended by government and industry representatives from
the region and even the Middle East, ICOPCE provided a useful platform
for discussing challenges in the safe transportation of oil, chemicals
and petrochemicals. In addition to setting up a booth to respond to delegate enquiries,
we also sponsored a business lunch for ICOPCE delegates to network.
A team of 10 responders also took part in ChemSpill 2009, a deployment
exercise conducted under ICOPCE that tested Singapore's response readiness. This year marks the second time Oil Spill Response has
participated in Sea Asia. Setting up a booth at this event created inroads
for us to make direct contact with the shipping and maritime industries
and introduce our services to them.
