the quality of our people is the key to our success; this commitment is
demonstrated in our new OPITO approved occupational standards for both
spill response specialists and supervisors. The programme rigorously assesses
our staff’s competency and sets the benchmark within the response
industry for personnel development. Our first wave of staff received their
OPITO approved certificate of competence early this year.
Work will continue throughout 2008 on the formation of additional occupational standards for technical advisors, consultants, managers and response section chiefs, allowing the whole organisation to benefit from this approach. For more information,
