WORKING TOGETHER - ACCREDITATION

Training Standards of UK MCA
The UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) stipulates that oil spill response
training should be sought from an accredited training centre. Oil Spill
Response was the first oil spill training organisation to be accredited
by the UK Nautical Institute to deliver the full range of UK oil spill response
training courses on behalf of the MCA. These encompassed First Responder (UK
Levels 1-2), Beach Master (UK Level 3), Harbour Master and On-Scene Commander
(UK Levels 4-5).
During the re-accreditation of our courses in November 2006, the Nautical
Institute commended on the "continuous improvement" demonstrated in our course
materials.
Requirement of DTI
Oil
Spill Response has developed accredited training courses to meet the
requirements of the UK DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) for offshore
operators. The three-day On-shore Duty Holder and Response Manager (Level
4) course and the one-day Level 4 Refresher course are offered in Aberdeen
in the heart of North Sea operations. The half-day Corporate Manager (Level
1) and On-scene Commander (Level 5) offshore courses are also available for
client tailored delivery.
Where appropriate, we ensure that all our own training courses delivered in the UK meet
the UK National Oil Spill Training Standards.
IMO International Standards
We
are committed to the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) initiatives
to promote training for oil spill preparedness and response. On behalf of
the UK MCA, the Nautical Institute has accredited Oil Spill Response
for the delivery of its IMO Model Training courses.
Oil Spill Response has extensive experience working with the
IMO in delivering these courses worldwide.
In summary, Oil Spill Response provides a full suite of training
services, whose courses match specific national and international training
standards. Whether it is a Published or Client-Tailored Course, a UK MCA Course
or an IMO Model Training Course, the quality of our training services is of
paramount importance to us.
