Community Engagement
OSRL is committed to going about our duty responsibly and to making a positive contribution to our environment, the lives of our employees, customers and the local and global communities in which we serve. Part of our expression of that commitment comes through our Corporate Social Responsbility activities.
Fundamentally we are a people business and across our regions we work hard to improve our inclusive culture and further develop a diverse workforce. In OSRL, our employees support projects in local communities through volunteering and fundraising, building sustainable relationships with clients and suppliers, promoting employee health and well-being, and managing our environmental impacts as we go about our daily duties in delivering response and preparedness work.
Our people have been pro-active in initiating and getting involved in charity and volunteer works, engaging communities locally or in regional countries. These include:
- Charity bike rides for fundraising
- Clearing local beaches of litter in annual global grassroots initiative
- Coppicing for local woodland management
- Partnering other organisations to build biosand filters to provide rural communes with access to clean water, and refurbishing of rural health centres.
