"As a spill response specialist, I have attended spills in Philippines, West Africa and Gibraltar, from which I have gained some insight into the challenges and complexity of managing an emergency response. Through training, exercises and projects, I gained much learning and enjoyed a wide spectrum of assignments as well as opportunities to travel to places like Kazakhstan, China, Thailand, USA and Canada. One can also be transferred to other departments to strengthen the skills and broaden the vision, on the territory as well as on the rest of the world. My experience truly reflects the Company’s commitment to staff training and development."

"The challenges of my job greatly accelerated my learning curve. Being in the Operations department initially, I was a part of a team whose main responsibility was to respond to oil spills. I would also carry out maintenance of the response equipment to ensure it is ready for rapid deployment. Now, as a trainer, I have opportunities to share knowledge and experience with people of different cultural backgrounds. I count it a privilege to be part of this globalized entity and I am convinced that my journey with Oil Spill Response will be filled with continual learning, growth and opportunities to contribute. "

"My duties in Sakhalin included the training of local responders, managing the maintenance of oil spill equipment and technical advice on the fates and effects of potential oil spills from the offshore export facility and the overland pipeline. During the winter this work was carried out in extreme cold weather conditions where all the containment and recovery techniques had to be changed to meet the conditions"
