OSRL and AMOSC extend Resources and Services Alliance agreement

Oil Spill Response Limited - OSRL and AMOSC extend Resources and Services Alliance26 September 2012 |

OSRL and AMOSC have signed a three-year extension to the Resources and Services Alliance for the continued joint provision of response and preparedness services to our Members and customers in Australia, New Zealand and other defined regional areas. The signing took place during the recent SPE APPEA International HSE Conference in Perth.

Improvements to the extended agreement include identifying and agreeing the protocols and responsibilities for both parties needed to integrate effectively during a response.

The signing underscores the strong relationship between OSRL and AMOSC and builds upon the mutual cooperation and progress made in the past few years to utilise industry resources and assets in a more effective manner. In 2012, Alliance activities included the following:

  • AMOSC participated in OSRL’s fireboom commissioning and deployment exercise in Singapore
  • OSRL attended a national oil spill exercise in Melbourne, Australia under the AMOSC banner
  • AMOSC participated in OSRL’s Annual General Meeting, Members’ Forum and technical standardisation meetings
  • Joint marketing campaign to promote preparedness services

Established in 2009, the agreement gave AMOSC direct call-out authority status to mobilise OSRL’s resources for oil spill incidents occurring in areas covered under AMOSC’s area of operation. This arrangement allowed governments and companies in defined regional areas to simultaneously gain access to additional resources, expedite the callout process and shorten overall response lead times. Targeted Alliance activities included the joint development of consultancy and training services, supported by mutual personnel secondments and information sharing.
